Now The Information (paywalled) is citing sources from an all hands meeting at OpenAI touting an early prototype of a smart speaker.
The small speaker will have microphones and cameras to understand its surroundings, and could even identify objects on the table. It will of course be driven by ChatGPT, and will use a FaceID-like feature for authentication.
The speaker will be «peaceful,» and an «active participant» that isn’t annoying and Altman and Ive said it will «make people feel joy,» MacRumors reports.
— It’s the coolest piece of technology that the world will have ever seen, Altman is reported saying.
The price is said to be between $200 and $300 and the planned launch is in February 2027 at the earliest, reports say.
